In 1923 the Table government was an oppressive regime controlled through heredity and money. Its people were backwards farmers, its factories made only eyesores on the horizon, and its culture bankrupt of anything of value.
The worst area was the southern region of Table. Here there was almost no government and when the government decided to show up it only did so to harass local merchants and farmers. The people while never starving never had enough food to feel fullfilled. Trade consisted solely of neighbors sharing amongst each other. There was no modern technology. The region would have fit in well in the 16th century.
One day I, the Great Leader, scimped together a ragtag group of rebels and declared ourselves independant. Of course a war broke out between the two regions and it was long and bloody. Eventually an international coalition stepped in to halt the violence. In the peace talks we managed to gain great stretches of land for simple peace. We walked away from the negotiations contented. The only regret is that we were unable to liberate our northern brethern or even aid them.
Thusly South Table was established in 1931. Quickly a socialist system was established and many agencies to promote and regulate growth were set in place. Currently the year is 1982 and we are booming beyond our wildest dreams. I am old man now and I figure it is best to show everyone where and what I have done. Not to toot my own horn but to bring newcomers who will further South Table into to the 21st century.
Now I have a few prelimanary image for everyone to see. You may have seen them before as they are public domain and the only ones I felt appropriate to show at this point.
